Nadiyaan Na Piyay Kabhee Apana Jala

Chorus:
Nadiyaan na piyay kabhee apana jala
Vriksha na khaayay kabhee apanay phala
Apanay tana kaa mana kaa dhana kaa
Doojo ko day jo daana hai
Vaha sacchaa insaana ray
Isa dharatee kaa Bhagavaana hai

Agara jisakaa anga jalay
Owra duniyaa ko meethee svaasa day
Deepaka saa usakaa jeevana hai jo
Doojon ko apanaa prakaasha day
Dharma hai jisakaa Bhagavata Geetaa
Sayvaa hee Vayda Puraana hai…..

Chaahay koee gunagaana karay
Chaahay karay nindaa koee
Phoolon say koee satakaara karay
Yaa kaantay ko bhujaa jaayay koee
Maana owra apamaana hee dono
Jisakay liyay samaana hai….

Translation:
The rivers never drink their own water, nor do the trees partake of their
own fruit.
Whoever offers his body, mind and wealth in service to man is a true
human being on this earth, that is really God’s.
The incense burns and gives the world its sweet fragrance.
The lamp burns itself out giving light to others.
Such should be the way of life of man, as proclaimed by the scriptures.
Whether one is glorified or ill-spoken of; whether he is welcomed with
flowers or encounters thorns along the way, it should make no
difference.
Both honour and dishonour should be regarded equally.
